Dr. B. Kaplan graduated from the Radiation Oncology specialization and was also the Head of the Radiation Oncology Department of Medipol Mega Hospital until 2019 while serving at MD Anderson Oncology Center in Houston, Texas in the United States.
He has delivered 62 publications and he has always been a highly respected and core member of various medical associations in Turkey, including the Turkish Oncology Association, Radiation Oncology Association, Turkish Institution for Cancer Research and Control, and the Experimental and Clinical Research Association. His interests include Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, and Gynecologic Cancer. Many of his publications discuss the effect of radiotherapy dose rates on early intestinal toxicity, the effect of radiotherapy on the psychiatric disorders in patients with head and neck cancer, the effect of prognostic factors on survival in elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer, concomitant chemoradiotherapy with docetaxel and cisplatin followed by consolidation chemotherapy in locally advanced unresectable non-small cell lung cancer, the effect of being overweight on survival in patients with gastric cancer undergoing adjuvant chemoradiotherapy, and many more.
