Madam Legiyem expressed immense joy at finally being able to take travel across in person. Just 1.5 years ago, at nearly 80 years old, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which had spread to her other lung, bones, and liver. Her physical condition was severely weak; she couldn’t walk more than 2 meters without gasping for breath. She experienced extreme shortness of breath and severe pain in her right chest. Additionally, she had a pacemaker installed in her heart.

Finally she able to travel far on 14 June 2024, seemingly to show that she had regained her health, successfully making the overland journey. Her shortness of breath, cough, and pain had disappeared. Her cancer has been shrinking and has not progressed for the last 10 months.
