Mr. Slamet has now fully recovered from a rare gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)

In December 2012, Mr. Slamet Sumarsono was diagnosed with a rare GIST cancer, which aggressively attacks the digestive tract. GISTs are rare, making up less than 1% of all gastrointestinal tumours. Knowing the aggressiveness of his tumour, Mr. Slamet Sumarsono immediately underwent surgery to remove the affected stomach and some parts of his intestine.

To prevent further damage from unremoved cancer cells, relapse possibility and further development of new cancer cells, he chose to continue with ECCT therapy since February 2013. Until today, he can still carry out normal activities; even though he has to live without a stomach, he has never made his illness a burden to live his life to the fullness.

His life challenge didn't just stop there. Later on, his wife has also been diagnosed with cancer, and they are both enthusiastically fighting cancer with ECCT together. They used ECCT for up to 5 years together, and both are in stable condition, healthy and passionate about living a better life together.
