Effective Treatments for Lung Cancer That Has Spread to the Brain

Effective Treatments for Lung Cancer

Three years ago, Mrs. Ian's PET scan and brain MRI results already showed a mass in her lungs that had spread to the lymph nodes around her airways and to her brain. There were also nodules in both her right and left thyroids. The nodules in her brain had spread almost throughout the entire cerebrum and cerebellum, with the largest one being more than 3 cm. The initial mass in her lungs measured around 6 cm and was diagnosed as adenocarcinoma (biopsy results).

She initially sought treatment in Singapore, where it was discovered that her condition had already spread extensively. Mrs. Ian then only received targeted oral chemotherapy for the mass in her lungs and Gamma Knife therapy for the large nodules in her brain.

To address the spread of the small nodules in her brain that could not be treated with Gamma Knife therapy, Mrs. Ian also used ECCT blanket as an effective treatment for lung cancer for the past two years. The ECCT device she used to cover her entire body, from the cysts in her pelvic cavity, liver, and kidneys, the initial mass in her lungs and lymph nodes, to the spread of nodules in her brain. Initially, she experienced severe dizziness as a reaction to the device's effect on the cancer spread in her brain. However, these symptoms gradually diminished with continued use of the device.

Her brain MRI and PET scan results, which she underwent every six months for the past two years, showed continuous improvement: the mass in her lungs was no longer active and had turned into thinning fibrosis, the nodules in her brain had mostly cleared, the spread to the lymph nodes in her chest had disappeared, and the cysts in her liver, kidneys, and pelvic cavity had also significantly reduced in size. She is now living her everyday life in normal condition.
